Sword & Shield Astral Radiance is set in Hisui
The Pokémon Astral Radiance expansion focuses on the Origin Forms of the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, which first appeared in the title of the core Pokémon Legends series: Arceus. In the Sword & Shield Astral Radiance set, the two are included as Pokémon V and Pokémon VSTAR cards. The Pokémon Astral Radiance expansion also features previously unknown Pokémon from the Hisui region, including a number of different regional forms. The latest evolutions of the Hisui starting Pokémon, Decidueye, Typhlosion and Samurott, are all depicted on Pokémon V and Pokémon VSTAR cards in their regional forms.
Pokémon Astral Radiance introduces a Sparkling Pokémon, which work similarly to the Shining Pokémon from the Neo series and Pokémon star from the EX series. Sparkling Pokémons are all Basic Pokémon that portray the shiny form of a type of Pokémon and have a Rule Box stating that only one copy can be included in a deck. The expansion also includes another Trainer Gallery subset, which includes more Full Art reprints of a Pokémon in addition to a Trainer. Each Pokémon Astral Radiance booster pack contains ten cards from the expansion, a code card for use with the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, and a basic Energy card or a VSTAR marker card.
