Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield - Brilliant Stars is the name given to the ninth main expansion of cards from the Sword & Shield Series. This expansion introduces the first Pokemon VSTAR mechanic to the Pokemon TCG.
The Brilliant Stars set is centered on Arceus, which support the Pokemon V & the new Pokemon VSTAR mechanic. Pokemon VSTAR begin to take the place of the Pokemon VMAX mechanic. They all evolve from a requisite Pokemon V.
Brilliant Stars includes a subset of cards named the Trainer Gallery, which comprises Full Art reprints depicting a Pokemon alongside a Trainer.
The Pokemon Brilliant Stars Set will consist of:
- Over 170 cards
- 4 brand-new Pokemon VSTAR
- 20 powerful Pokemon V and 3 enormous Pokemon VMAX
- 30 cards with special art in the Trainer Gallery subset
- More than 20 Trainer cards and a new Special Energy card
